Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions is seeking a District Sustainable Forest Management Coordinator in the Wellington district to lead and coordinate the delivery of Sustainable Forest Management services. The role involves planning, monitoring and liaising with stakeholders to protect values and support regional biodiversity goals.

Based in Collie, the position emphasizes leadership, program delivery, budget stewardship and effective collaboration with local authorities,

Competenze

Considerable knowledge of, and experience in the delivery of a sustainable forest management service including planning and implementing works programs, monitoring and reporting on forest disturbance activities, identifying threats to values and implementing measures to rehabilitate or recover values.
Demonstrated experience in liaising at a senior level with external organisations to achieve objectives with authorities, private companies, agencies, stakeholders and communities, and handling complex information requests.
Evidence of well-developed interpersonal and organisational skills with leadership and management of staff, contractors and volunteers, including employee development and performance management.

Mansioni

Planning and implementing SFM works programs.
Monitoring operations on State forest and timber reserves, including mining and ecological thinning.
Liaising with the community, key stakeholders and specialist groups.
