Artemus Group in Sydney Harbour area seeks a Sustainability Steward to manage waste streams and support eco-friendly operations at Manly Wharf. The role keeps waste areas clean and promotes sustainable practices across venue teams.

Night shifts may be required and a proactive, detail-oriented approach is essential for recycling, food waste processing, and record-keeping in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality or kitchen operations, warehousing, or logistics preferred.
• Ability to perform repetitive manual handling tasks safely.
• Night shifts may be required, including late finishes.
• Strong attention to detail and collaborative work style.

Responsibilities

• Separate and manage waste streams across venues.

• Operate baling equipment for cardboard and recyclables.

We are on the hunt for Sustainability Stewards to help us maintain a clean, efficient, and environmentally responsible precinct.

Key responsibilities include:

• Separating and managing waste streams
• Maintaining accurate waste and recycling records
• Operating baling equipment to process cardboard and recyclables
• Processing food waste and supporting sustainability initiatives
• Keeping waste areas, equipment, and back-of-house spaces clean and organised
• Working closely with venue teams to promote best-practice sustainability processes

What we're looking for:

• Previous experience in hospitality or kitchen operations, warehousing, logistics, or physically demanding environments is highly regarded
• Availability to work night shifts, including finishes between 1am and 3am
• Ability to safely perform repetitive manual handling tasks, including heavy lifting throughout shifts
• Flexibility to work across a 7-day roster
• A proactive attitude and strong attention to detail
• The ability to work collaboratively as well as have the autonomy to work within a fast-paced environment
