Job summary

Downer’s Energy & Utilities team is seeking an experienced Sustainability Manager to drive best-practice sustainability outcomes across a major transmission project. The role leads planning, monitoring, reporting and stakeholder engagement while supporting the Infrastructure Sustainability V2.2 rating delivery.

Based on a site in Australia, you will provide technical leadership to design, engineering, procurement and construction teams, building capability and delivering practical, measurable

Qualifications

• Experience delivering Infrastructure Sustainability Council rating tool or similar.
• Experience managing sustainability on infrastructure, construction, utilities or major projects.
• Proven ability to deliver value for money outcomes and industry best practice.
• Experience developing and implementing Sustainability Management Plans.
• Proven ability to engage and influence a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong communication and relationship management skills.
• Experience leading sustainability audits, compliance activities and performance reporting.
• Collaborative approach and commitment to building high performing teams.
• Strong commitment to safety, environmental responsibility and continuous improvement.

The opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Sustainability Manager to join Downer's Energy & Utilities business. Working within the Sustainability & Zero Harm team and reporting to the Environmental, Planning and Sustainability Director, this site-based role will lead the implementation of best industry practice sustainability outcomes through planning, monitoring, reporting and stakeholder engagement across a major transmission project, whole also supporting the delivery of an Infrastructure Sustainability V2.2 rating.

You will provide technical sustainability leadership to project teams and clients while driving sustainability outcomes across design, engineering, procurement, construction and project controls functions. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a significant infrastructure project while supporting the delivery of practical and measurable sustainability initiatives.
