Job summary

Downer is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead Western Power contract delivery within our WA portfolio. You will be accountable for contract performance, safety, and stakeholder satisfaction, guiding a high-performing team across field operations and support functions to deliver on time and to specification.

Qualifications

• Minimum eight years' industry experience, particularly within electrical, power and/or heavy industry.
• Experience in management and planning of field operations, with at least three years' experience desirable.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience managing contracts, schedules, resources, reporting, invoicing and supplier or subcontractor performance.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise competing demands, meet deadlines and work effectively with minimal supervision.
• Certificate IV in Leadership and Management and/or Project Management is preferred. A trade or tertiary qualification in construction, utilities, electrical or a related industry is highly desirable

Responsibilities

• Lead contract delivery across inspection and maintenance programs, ensuring scope, timelines, quality requirements and contractual obligations are met
• Champion Zero Harm by maintaining a safe working environment, managing risks and embedding safety leadership across employees, contractors and subcontractors
• Manage scheduling, reporting, analytics, resource allocation, invoicing, purchase orders and supplier and subcontractor agreements
• Monitor commercial performance, identify potential impacts early and implement practical actions to reduce risk and improve outcomes
• Build strong, collaborative relationships with Western Power, internal stakeholders, subcontractors and suppliers
• Lead, support and develop teams while fostering accountability, continuous improvement and a strong customer focus
• Ensure client requirements, work instructions, quality assurance outcomes and environmental obligations are communicated and actioned

The Opportunity

Downer has an opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of Western Power contracts within our WA portfolio. Reporting to the Operations Manager UAM, you will hold full accountability for contract performance, compliance, customer satisfaction and the safe delivery of inspection and maintenance programs.

You will manage commercial outcomes, risk and quality while leading and developing a high-performing team. Working closely with clients, supervisors, field delivery teams and support functions, you will ensure programs are delivered safely, on time and to specification, in line with Downer and Western Power standards and strategic objectives.
