Job summary

BlueScope Steel is seeking a Sustainability Advisor to join the Australian Steel Markets team in Mascot, NSW (Port Kembla option for the right candidate). You will support product credentials, decarbonisation efforts and sustainability data governance across functions.

The role focuses on developing LCIs/LCAs/EPDs, maintaining ecolabels, and engaging with internal and external stakeholders to advance BlueScope's sustainability journey.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years' experience in sustainability or related field.
  • Exposure to LCA methodologies, EPDs and ecolabels.
  • Experience with NABERS, Green Star or IS Rating scoring.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a key point of contact for sustainability-related enquiries from internal and external stakeholders including product credentials and decarbonisation initiatives.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing, Innovation, Product Stewardship, and Marketing to develop and maintain sustainability data and documentation.
  • Manage sustainability claims governance.
  • Support the maintenance and development of Life Cycle Inventories (LCIs), Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs), Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) including contributing to the delivery of a major LCA and EPD update program.
  • Review and maintain product ecolabel certifications or product sustainability frameworks/databases and assess new or updated certifications.
  • Develop technical content, tools and resources that support customer and stakeholder engagement.
  • Conduct research to support current and future sustainability value propositions and product credentials.
  • Represent BlueScope through industry forums, conferences and professional networks.
