The Opportunity

Our Metal Coating Team is looking for a Material/Product Engineer to join the team at our Western PortManufacturing facility. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products Portfolio, we have four major manufacturing departments at Western Port which operate 24 x 7 and deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to export and domestic customers.

This is a hands-on technical role that combines daily operational support with longer term improvement projects. You'll investigate process issues, analyse product and production data, support fault finding activities and contribute to projects that improve manufacturing performance.

Located in Hastings, Victoria, on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula, this Monday to Friday day shift opportunity is ideally suited to a recent graduate looking to build technical capability within a complex manufacturing environment. Comprehensive training and development will be provided to support your growth.

  • relevant tertiary qualifications in Materials Engineering/Scienceor equivalent

  • strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate issues and identify practical solutions
  • the ability to work effectively in an environment where priorities can change and ambiguity exists
  • highly computer literate with the ability to quickly learn and effectively use a range of bespoke manufacturing systems
  • excellent communication skills and the ability to build constructive relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • a proactive approach, high attention to detail and a desire to continuously learn and improve.
