Job summary

Evolution Mining, Cowal Gold Operation, is seeking a Mine Surveyor for Open Pit responsibilities within a dynamic mining team. You will ensure data integrity, support mine planning and drive improvements using modern survey tech on a residential 8:6 roster.

Reporting to the Senior Mining Surveyor, you will mentor technicians, uphold QA/QC standards and deliver accurate survey outcomes daily.

Qualifications

• Must have a recognised tertiary qualification in Surveying (associate degree or higher).
• Experience in mine surveying, ideally Open Pit mining.
• Strong QA/QC, data validation and data management capabilities.
• Proficiency with Deswik and modern survey technologies.
• Experience with GNSS, RPAS and photogrammetry methods.

Responsibilities

• Champion survey data quality, QAQC and governance across the operation.
• Provide trusted technical guidance supporting operational and planning decisions.
• Mentor Survey Technicians to build team capability.
• Drive improvements in survey systems, workflows and technologies to boost efficiency.
• Support a safe, high-performing mining environment with accurate survey outcomes.

As a Mine Surveyor – Open Pit at Cowal Gold Operation, you'll play a key role in maintaining the integrity of survey data while helping drive continuous improvement across one of Australia's leading gold mining operations. Working an 8:6 residential roster, you'll combine technical expertise, modern survey technologies and strong stakeholder engagement to support safe, efficient and reliable mining outcomes every day.

You'll bring:

• A recognised tertiary qualification in Surveying (associate degree or higher)
• Experience in mine surveying, ideally within an open pit mining environment
• Strong capabilities in QAQC, survey data validation and data management
• Proficiency with Deswik and modern survey technologies
• Experience with GNSS, RPAS and photogrammetry methodologies
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across technical disciplines
