Job summary

Evolution Mining is seeking a Mining Engineer at Cowal Operations to shape the future of one of Australia’s premier open pit mining operations. You will translate mine plans into safe, efficient production while building strong stakeholder relationships across operations, geology, survey and geotechnical teams.

The role offers an 8:6 roster with 12-hour shifts, enabling genuine work-life balance. Based at Cowal, you’ll develop short-term plans and drive operational success.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in open pit mining engineering.
• Experience in mine planning and scheduling.
• Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to influence outcomes and drive plans through to execution.
• Experience with Deswik or similar mine planning software such as Vulcan or Surpac.

• Develop and drive short-term mine plans that support operational success.
• Influence site performance through effective stakeholder engagement.
• Support drill and blast design, scheduling and operational execution.
• Analyse production performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Contribute to the successful delivery of mining projects from planning through to execution.
• Help ensure plans are communicated clearly and delivered safely across site teams.

As a Mining Engineer, you'll work at the centre of operational decision making, helping translate mine plans into outcomes that drive safe, efficient and reliable production.
