Evolution Mining, a premier global gold company, operates six mines across Australia and Canada. We’re seeking a Geotechnical Engineer (Underground and Open Pit) to shape safe, productive and sustainable mining through geotechnical expertise, analysis and collaborative problem solving at Cowal Gold Operations near West Wyalong.

You'll report to the Senior Geotechnical Engineer and work with technical and operational teams on design, ground control, risk management and continuous improvement to

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering, Geoscience, Civil Engineering (Geomechanics) or related discipline.
• Geotechnical experience within a mining environment.
• Knowledge of geotechnical controls, mining operations and risk management principles.
• Experience with geotechnical modelling and CAD software.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• A proactive approach to safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Influence safe and productive mining through geotechnical design and analysis.
• Help manage critical ground control, rockfall and geotechnical risks across the operation.
• Partner with mining engineers and operational teams to optimise ground stability and recovery.
• Build and maintain geotechnical models that support informed decision-making and risk management.
• Provide geotechnical input that supports the successful delivery of development and infrastructure projects.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen safety, reliability and operational performance.

What’s the opportunity?

This is an opportunity to play a critical role in the success of one of Australia's most significant open pit and underground mining operations. As our Geotechnical Engineer (Underground and Open Pit), you'll help shape safe, productive and sustainable mining activities through geotechnical expertise, technical analysis and collaborative problem solving.

Working an attractive 8:6 roster with 12 hour day shifts at our Cowal Gold Operations near West Wyalong, you'll enjoy extended time at home while contributing to the continued growth of our expanding underground operation. You'll work closely with technical and operational teams, influencing key decisions that directly impact mine safety, stability and production performance.

Reporting to the Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you'll:
