Job summary

Evolution Mining is seeking a Mining Engineer for Cowal Operations to translate mine plans into safe, efficient production. You’ll work in close collaboration with operations, geology, survey and geotechnical teams on an 8:6 roster with 12‑hour shifts at Cowal.

You will develop short-term mine plans, influence site performance through stakeholder engagement, and support drill and blast design and scheduling while driving execution across the operation.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or equivalent.

Play a key role in shaping the future of one of Australia’s premier open pit mining operations.

As a Mining Engineer, you'll work at the centre of operational decision making, helping translate mine plans into outcomes that drive safe, efficient and reliable production. This role offers the opportunity to develop your technical capability while building strong stakeholder relationships across operations, geology, survey and geotechnical teams.

Based at our Cowal Operations and reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, you'll:

Does this sound like you?

• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or equivalent
• 2+ year’s experience in an open pit mining engineering role
• Experience in mine planning and scheduling
• Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills
• The ability to influence outcomes and drive plans through to execution
• Experience with Deswik or similar mine planning software such as Vulcan or Surpac
• A proactive, team focused approach and commitment to safety

Experience within gold mining is welcomed, however engineers from other commodities are encouraged to apply where they have relevant open pit planning experience.
