Job summary

SEE Group in Burpengary, QLD, is seeking a Survey Technician to join our infrastructure and urban development teams. This full-time role focuses on data import, data maintenance, GPS file conversion, and on-site survey set-out, delivering accurate results safely on a large multi-stage project.

You will work closely with delivery, project management and survey teams, applying engineering principles, numeric accuracy and proactive problem-solving to keep projects progressing and aligned with

Qualifications

  • Background in survey processes and field data management.
  • Tertiary qualification in Surveying or Spatial Science.
  • Demonstrated numeric accuracy and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Import data into system for drafting final plans.
  • Update set out, models, and data.
  • Convert digital data and models to GPS files.
  • Upload and maintain data in survey instruments.
  • Maintain location register of onsite GPS equipment.
  • Monitor software versions and upgrades for equipment.
  • Review plans for accuracy against drawings on site.
  • Ensure works align with project drawings and specs.
  • Coordinate survey set out considering project continuity.

The Opportunity
SEE Group have a great career opportunity available for a Survey Technician to join our highly professional and skilled infrastructure and urban development teams. This is a diverse and fast-paced full-time role predominantly based in Burpengary, QLD, working on a large multi-stage urban development with long‑term stability. You’ll work closely with teams across operational delivery, project management and survey to deliver exceptional results safely.
Responsibilities
  • Import data into system for drafting of final plans.
  • Update and keep current set out and or models and data.
  • Convert digital data, and models to GPS file.
  • Accurately upload and maintain data in survey instruments and other plant and equipment.
  • Update and maintain in the system “location register” of all onsite GPS equipment.
  • Monitor and track that machines have current software, and load upgrades as required.
  • Review and assess plans for accuracy against markings and project specifications on site.
  • Monitor and track that all works are set out in strict accordance with project drawings and specifications.
  • Plan and coordinate survey set out taking into consideration continuity of projects and utilisation of machinery and contractors
Essential Skills and Attributes
  • Background in Survey processes.
  • Tertiary qualification in Surveying or Spatial Science.
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Demonstrated numeric accuracy and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of Engineering principles and experience in actual project delivery.
  • Highly effective planning, organising and problem‑solving skills together with the ability to lead, motivate and influence others.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
