Job summary

Lasseters’ Alice Springs Casino Operations is seeking a vigilant Surveillance Operator to monitor gaming areas, public spaces and back-of-house operations. You will identify irregular activity, support investigations, and maintain the integrity of the venue’s compliance program.

The role requires strong observation, report writing, confidentiality, and the ability to work a 24/7 roster, including nights and holidays.

Qualifications

• AQF Certificate II or III in Security Operations or 1+ year relevant experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Casino Operatives Licence
• RSA and RSG (or ability to obtain)
• Experience in surveillance, security, gaming operations, or compliance environments
• Strong report-writing and CCTV competency

Responsibilities

• Monitor all gaming areas (EG, Table Games, TAB, Keno) and observe for irregular or suspicious activity
• Identify potential fraud, theft, collusion or procedural breaches; review CCTV footage
• Prepare detailed written reports in line with regulatory requirements; provide video evidence as requested
• Ensure surveillance operations meet regulatory/licensing obligations; assist with audits
• Liaise with Security, Gaming Supervisors, and Management; maintain confidentiality

The Surveillance Operator is responsible for monitoring, recording, and reporting all casino and property activity to ensure compliance with gaming legislation, internal controls, and venue policies. This role plays a critical part in protecting Lasseters’ gaming licence, assets, staff, and guests. The Surveillance Operator maintains constant vigilance across gaming areas, public spaces, and back-of-house operations, identifying irregular activity, supporting investigations, and ensuring operational integrity at all times.

WHAT - Experience and competency I have

• AQF Certificate II or III in Security Operations OR
• At least 1 year of relevant experience OR

Responsible to Surveillance Manager

HOW – Key Responsibilities

Surveillance Monitoring

• Monitor all gaming areas including Electronic Gaming, Table Games, TAB and Keno
• Observe patron and staff behaviour for irregular or suspicious activity
• Ensure compliance with gaming rules, procedures, and internal controls
• Conduct routine surveillance audits as directed

Incident Detection & Investigation

• Identify potential fraud, theft, collusion, or procedural breaches
• Review and extract CCTV footage when required
• Support investigations in coordination with Gaming Management and Security
• Escalate concerns promptly to the Surveillance Manager or Gaming Manager

Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain accurate logs of observations and incidents
• Prepare detailed written reports in line with regulatory requirements
• Provide video evidence and documentation as requested
• Maintain confidentiality and data security at all times

Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure surveillance operations meet all regulatory and licensing obligations
• Support audits and regulatory inspections
• Assist with internal control reviews and compliance assessments

Team Collaboration

• Liaise with Security, Gaming Supervisors, and Management
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding surveillance operations
• Contribute to a professional and cooperative working environment
