Job summary

VIDA Roads is seeking a Surveillance Officer to coordinate risk-based site surveillance across multiple projects in Ballarat/Geelong. The role is a 3-year fixed-term position with hybrid working options and requires travel to site offices as needed.

Key duties include managing site surveillance activities, liaising with engineers and contractors, and upholding VIDA Roads standards. The role offers a structured salary range and benefits under VPS 4.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, plan and implement risk-based site surveillance across multiple VIDA Roads projects.
• Maintain positive relationships with Technical, Engineering, Planning and Engagement Advisors and contractor's construction teams, proactively resolving issues at site and in coordination meetings.
• Exercise judgement in delivery of construction activities including service relocations, earthworks, pavements, drainage, surfacing, traffic management, traffic signals and bridgeworks per project scope and VIDA Roads standards.
• Apply competence in planning and execution of risk-based surveillance activities with high-quality documentation.
• Assist in developing innovative responses to construction and traffic management problems.
• Surveillance and auditing of all site investigations, transport infrastructure construction and maintenance work across assigned projects; implement risk-based surveillance under quality assured contracts.

VIDA Roads VPS 4 Surveillance Officer

• Hybrid working environment.
• 3 years maximum term, VPS 4 $100,894- $114,476 + super & benefits.
• This role will be located at Ballarat/Geelong.

• Responsible for the development, coordination, planning and implementation of risk-based site surveillance across multiple projects within a program of projects at VIDA Roads.
• Responsible for maintaining positive relationships with Technical, Engineering, Planning and Engagement Advisors and contractor's construction teams, proactively resolving issues as they arise, including attendance and providing input into coordination meetings.
• Exercise judgement in the delivery of construction activities including service relocations, earthworks, pavements, drainage, surfacing, traffic management, traffic signals and bridgeworks according to project scope, in accordance with VIDA Roads policies, standards, specifications and guidelines.
• Apply competence in the planning and execution of all risk-based surveillance activities in the practical application of construction, ensuring high quality documentation is maintained.
• Assist in the development of innovative responses to construction and traffic management problems.

The Surveillance Officer performs surveillance and auditing of all site investigations, transport infrastructure construction and maintenance work across assigned projects. The role undertakes the implementation of risk-based site surveillance of assigned works under quality assured contracts, managing resolution of issues on site with contractor/s.

This opportunity is a 3 Year Fixed Term Position. It will be a requirement to travel and spend time at one or all our site offices.
