Job summary

VIDA Roads in Victoria, Australia is seeking a Surveillance Officer (VPS 4) for a hybrid, 18-month fixed-term role based in Dandenong. You will lead risk-based site surveillance across multiple projects, coordinate with engineers and contractors, and ensure compliance with VIDA Roads policies and guidelines.

• Develop, coordinate, plan and implement risk-based site surveillance across multiple VIDA Roads projects.
• Maintain positive relationships with Technical, Engineering and contractor teams; attend and input into coordination meetings.
• Exercise judgement in delivery of construction activities including relocations, earthworks, drainage and bridgeworks.
• Apply competence in planning and executing risk-based surveillance with quality documentation.
• Assist in developing innovative responses to construction and traffic management problems.
• Surveil and audit all site investigations, transport infrastructure work across assigned projects.
• Implement risk-based site surveillance under quality-assured contracts; resolve issues on site with contractors.

VIDA Roads VPS 4 Surveillance Officer

18 months fixed term, VPS 4 $100,894- $114,476 + super & benefits.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the development, coordination, planning and implementation of risk-based site surveillance across multiple projects within a program of projects at VIDA Roads.
• Responsible for maintaining positive relationships with Technical, Engineering, Planning and Engagement Advisors and contractor's construction teams, proactively resolving issues as they arise, including attendance and providing input into coordination meetings.
• Exercise judgement in the delivery of construction activities including service relocations, earthworks, pavements, drainage, surfacing, traffic management, traffic signals and bridgeworks according to project scope, in accordance with VIDA Roads policies, standards, specifications and guidelines.
• Apply competence in the planning and execution of all risk-based surveillance activities in the practical application of construction, ensuring high quality documentation is maintained.
• Assist in the development of innovative responses to construction and traffic management problems.
• The Surveillance Officer performs surveillance and auditing of all site investigations, transport infrastructure construction and maintenance work across assigned projects.
• The role undertakes the implementation of risk-based site surveillance of assigned works under quality assured contracts, managing resolution of issues on site with contractor/s.

This opportunity is a 18 months Fixed Term Position. It will be a requirement to travel and spend time at one or all our site offices.
