Victorian Infrastructure Delivery Authority – Melbourne VIC is seeking a Surveillance Officer for an 18-month fixed-term assignment. The role involves risk-based site surveillance across VIDA Roads, coordinating with engineering and planning teams, and ensuring high-quality documentation. Travel to site offices is required.

Fixed-term VPS4 salary range $100,894–$114,476 plus super & benefits. Location: Dandenong. Pre-employment checks apply.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, plan and implement risk-based site surveillance across VIDA Roads projects.
• Maintain positive relationships with Technical, Engineering, Planning and Engagement Advisors and contractor's construction teams, proactively resolving issues on site.
• Exercise judgment in the delivery of construction activities including service relocations, earthworks, pavements, drainage, surfacing, traffic management, traffic signals and bridgeworks.
• Apply competence in planning and execution of risk-based surveillance activities with high-quality documentation.
• Assist in developing innovative responses to construction and traffic management problems.
• Surveillance and auditing of site investigations, transport infrastructure construction and maintenance work across assigned projects; manage resolution of issues on site with contractors.
• Willingness to travel and spend time at one or more site offices.
• Pre-employment checks including national police check and misconduct screening.

Responsible for the development, coordination,planningand implementation of risk-based site surveillance across multiple projects within a program of projects at VIDA Roads.

Responsible formaintainingpositive relationships with Technical, Engineering, Planning and Engagement Advisors and contractor's construction teams, proactively resolving issues as they arise, including attendance and providing input into coordination meetings.

Exercise judgement in the delivery of construction activities including service relocations, earthworks, pavements, drainage, surfacing, traffic management, trafficsignalsand bridgeworks according to project scope,in accordance withVIDA Roads policies, standards, specifications and guidelines.

Apply competence in the planning and execution of all risk-based surveillance activities in the practical application of construction, ensuringhigh qualitydocumentation ismaintained.

Assistin the development of innovative responses to construction and traffic management problems.

The Surveillance Officer performs surveillance and auditing of all site investigations, transport infrastructureconstructionand maintenance work across assigned projects. The role undertakes the implementation of risk-based site surveillance of assigned works under quality assured contracts, managing resolution of issues on site with contractor/s.

This opportunity is a 18 months Fixed Term Position

It will be a requirement to travel and spend time at one or all our site offices.
