Job summary

East Coast Plastic Surgery on the Gold Coast is seeking a dedicated Patient Co-ordinator to support plastic and reconstructive surgery services. In a fast-paced, patient-centred environment, you will manage bookings, communications and follow-up care across cosmetic, reconstructive, skin cancer and trauma cases.

You will liaise with surgeons, hospitals and insurers, maintain patient records and assist with billing, photography and imaging as part of a close-knit team.

Qualifications

• Experience in medical reception or patient coordination is desirable.
• Strong customer service mindset and empathy for patients.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Well organised with attention to detail and multitasking ability.
• Comfort with computers and learning new systems.
• Familiarity with Medicare, private health insurance and WorkCover processes is advantageous.
• Understanding of medical terminology in plastic, reconstructive and trauma surgery.

Responsibilities

• Provide a warm, professional experience for patients in person and by phone.
• Handle calls, emails, referrals and patient enquiries efficiently.
• Coordinate consultations, surgical bookings and follow-up appointments.
• Manage patients across cosmetic, reconstructive, skin cancer and trauma cases.
• Liaise with surgeons, hospitals, anaesthetists and insurers.
• Maintain accurate electronic patient files and documentation.
• Process patient accounts, Medicare claims and private insurance billing.
• Assist with clinical photography and imaging where needed.
• Ensure patients have required documents and clearances before surgery.
• Support the broader clinical and admin team for day-to-day operations.
