Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Disability Support Worker, preferably in supported independent living.
• Experience with individuals who have complex psychosocial behaviours.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with compassion and empathy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with professionalism and integrity.
• Yellow Card and Blue Card, valid driver’s licence and comprehensive car insurance.
• First Aid and CPR certification preferred; assistance can be provided to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalised support and care in a supported independent living environment.
• Assist with daily living activities including meals, hygiene, and household tasks.
• Foster an inclusive environment promoting independence and empowerment.
• Proactively manage complex psychosocial behaviours with respect and dignity.
• Collaborate with the support team to ensure continuity of care and effective communication.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of client interactions and progress.
• Perform sleepovers as required, providing overnight support.
