Job summary

Catholic Healthcare is hiring compassionate carers to support older Australians at home across the Hills area. You will travel between client homes, assisting with daily tasks, meals, transport and personal care as needed.

Roles include permanent part-time or casual with flexible hours, in a not-for-profit environment that offers meaningful, community-focused work. We welcome applicants with a Certificate 3 or 4 in Individual Support or those new to the care industry.

• Demonstrates genuine passion for high-quality care to older Australians.
• Ability to interact with a wide variety of people.
• Good communication skills and reliability in a team.
• Understanding of workplace health and safety best practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily in-home tasks per their care plan (cleaning, tidying, washing).
• Provide transport to appointments and shopping.
• Prepare meals for clients.
• Offer social support or respite for families and carers.
• Assist with personal care as trained (showering, dressing).

We are looking for passionate and caring individuals to make a difference in our clients' lives by assisting them to live at home independently for as long as possible. You will be travelling around the Hills area in a varied and rewarding role - no two days will be the same!!

Day To Day Role Looks Like

• Supporting and connecting with our clients assisting with day to day in home tasks - cleaning, tidying, washing and other tasks within the client's care plan
• Transport to appointments and shopping
• Meal preparation
• Social Support or Respite for family/carers
• Personal care including assistance with showering and dressing (if qualified/fully trained)

To Be Successful In This Role You’ll Need

• A genuine passion for providing high quality care to older Australian's in the community
• To be comfortable interacting with a wide variety of people
• Good communication skills
• To be a reliable team player
• To have an understanding of workplace health and safety
• Certificate 3 or 4 in Individual Support highly regarded (but not essential)
• An Australian driver's licence and access to a registered motor vehicle (essential)
