Job summary

Calvary The Mariner South West Rocks is seeking Part-time Support Workers for Catering to join our hospitality team in a residential home. You will help maintain food quality, safety, and presentation while performing cleaning duties and assisting in dining room operations.

The role emphasises resident-focused hospitality, flexibility, and teamwork in a friendly, mission-driven environment. Prior food service or aged care exposure is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Experience in basic food preparation preferred but not required.
• Excellent customer service approach, friendly and bubbly.
• Effective time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic understanding of the requirements to support residents living with dementia and Aged Care standards is a plus.
• Desire to join a team committed to care in a mission-based organisation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with catering to meet residents' food requirements, including preparation and serving.
• Follow protocols for special dietary requests.
• Assist with dining room preparation and cleanliness.
• Work with food safety plans and legislative guidelines.
• Maintain high cleaning standards in resident rooms and general areas.
• Adhere to infection control, manual handling, and WHS procedures.
• Maintain open communication within the team.

About The Role

We are looking for Part-time Support Workers- Catering for our residential home. As a passionate and experienced Hospitality assistant you will work as a member of our large hospitality team.

You will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of catering, and presentation whilst handling, preparing and storing food, in addition to associated cleaning tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the catering service to meet resident's food requirements. This will include food preparation, food storage, food hygiene, distribution and serving of meals.
• Follow written protocols for special dietary requests.
• Assist with preparation of the dining rooms.
• Work with food safety plan and legislative guidelines.
• Maintain a high standard of cleaning to resident's rooms and all general areas.
• Adhere to infection control, manual handling, WHS procedures.
• Maintain efficient and open communication.

About You

• Experience in basic food preparation preferred but not essential
• Excellent customer service approach, friendly and bubbly personality
• Effective time management skills and experience in a fast paced environment
• Basic understanding of the requirements to support residents living with dementia including those who display challenging behaviours and also basic knowledge of the requirements of the Aged Care standards will be high regarded
• A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
