Job summary

Calvary is seeking a Part-time Support Worker for Catering and cleaning in a residential aged care setting. You will join a large hospitality team, handling meal prep, service, cleaning and adherence to safety standards to ensure residents receive high-quality meals and a clean environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in basic food preparation preferred but not essential.
• Excellent customer service and friendly demeanor.

• Assist with the catering service to meet residents' food requirements. This includes food preparation, storage, hygiene, distribution and serving of meals.
• Follow written protocols for special dietary requests.
• Assist with preparation of the dining rooms.
• Work with food safety plan and legislative guidelines.
• Maintain a high standard of cleaning to residents' rooms and all general areas.
• Adhere to infection control, manual handling, WHS procedures.
• Maintain efficient and open communication.

About the role

We are looking for Part-time Support Workers- Catering for our residential home. As a passionate and experienced Hospitality assistant you will work as a member of our large hospitality team.

You will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of catering, and presentation whilst handling, preparing and storing food, in addition to associated cleaning tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the catering service to meet resident's food requirements. This will include food preparation, food storage, food hygiene, distribution and serving of meals.
• Follow written protocols for special dietary requests.
• Assist with preparation of the dining rooms.
• Work with food safety plan and legislative guidelines.
• Maintain a high standard of cleaning to resident's rooms and all general areas.
• Adhere to infection control, manual handling, WHS procedures.
• Maintain efficient and open communication.

About you

• Experience in basic food preparation preferred but not essential
• Excellent customer service approach, friendly and bubbly personality
• Effective time management skills and experience in a fast paced environment
• Basic understanding of the requirements to support residents living with dementia including those who display challenging behaviours and also basic knowledge of the requirements of the Aged Care standards will be high regarded
• A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
