Calvary Muswellbrook Retirement Community is seeking a casual Support Worker - Catering to join our team. You will assist the Chef/Cook by preparing daily meals, supporting dietary needs, and maintaining a clean, safe dining environment for residents.

You'll help deliver nutritious meals that respect cultural and religious preferences, participate in food safety practices, and support a positive dining experience for residents. This role is casual and located in Muswellbrook, NSW.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal communication, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads.
• Commitment to continuous quality improvement.
• Working knowledge of WH&S and Infection Control.
• Experience with Australian food safety standards.
• Food handling certificate desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support service delivery under the direction of the Chef/Cook.
• Prepare daily meals and beverages that meet individual needs of each resident including special dietary requirements, allergies and culturally specific as instructed by the Chef or Cook.
• Ensure environmental service standards are met and maintained, and the residents living environment is safe and maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.
• Ensuring that all duties are worked in accordance with the National Food Safety Program at all times including completing food safety records and the prevention of cross contamination.

About The Role

The Support Worker - Catering will ensure a supportive environment where residents are encouraged to express their food preferences and choice, whilst ensuring that food is nutritious and prepared in alignment with appropriate standards. Catering support workers will do all that they can to support cultural, religious and dietary preferences in preparation and food service to ensure that resident satisfaction is maintained. Calvary Muswellbrook Retirement Community is a modern community in the heart of Muswellbrook providing a 65 bed residential aged care accommodation and 22 independent living villas.

Key Responsibilities

• Support service delivery under the direction of the Chef/Cook

• Previous experience with Australian food safety standards
• Demonstrated experience in food preparation and food safety desirable
• Food Handling Certificate Desirable
