Job summary

Calvary Mirridong in Bendigo, VIC is seeking a dedicated Support Worker - Catering to help deliver healthy meals to residents under the direction of the Chef/ Cook. You will assist with meal prep, service and maintain food safety standards in a compassionate healthcare setting.

Casual and fixed-term part-time roles are available. You will join a supportive team, with opportunities for training, flexible hours and benefits such as salary packaging and paid parental leave as part of Calvary’s

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations.
• Ability to work as part of a team to support residents.

Responsibilities

• Support service delivery under the direction of the Chef/Cook.
• Prepare daily meals and beverages meeting residents' dietary needs and allergies.
• Maintain cleanliness and safe environment per standards.
• Follow National Food Safety Program and complete food safety records.
• Serve nutritious meals in presentable form at correct temperatures.
• Prepare trays and trolleys for each meal service per guidelines.

About the role

As a Support worker - Catering you will make a difference each and every day in providing healthy, hearty and delicious meals prepared by our Chef. Reporting to the Home Manager, you will support the Chef/ Chef Manager and your team to deliver a high quality catering service to our residents.

Both Casual and fixed term part time roles available.

Your main duties will include:

• Support service delivery under the direction of the Chef/Cook
• Prepare daily meals and beverages that meet individual needs of each resident including special dietary requirements, allergies and culturally specific as instructed by the Chef or Cook.
• Ensure environmental service standards are met and maintained, and the residents living environment is safe and maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.
• Ensuring that all duties are worked in accordance with the National Food Safety Program at all times including completing food safety records and the prevention of cross contamination.
• Serve nutritious meals in well-presented manner and at the appropriate temperature
• Prepare trays and trolleys for each meal services as per the Calvary National Dining and Nutrition Guide.
