Job summary

genU is seeking an experienced Support Worker to join our team in Bunbury. You will help people with disabilities and those requiring mental health support as they transition from hospital to home, delivering person-centred care that promotes safety, dignity and independence.

This role contributes to practical daily living support and respects individual goals. You will follow behaviour support plans, assist with meals, personal care and medication administration, complete admin duties and

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in supporting customers with behavioural support plans.
• Experience working with challenging behaviours.
• Understanding and enthusiasm for working with people with disabilities.
• Ability to manage complex situations with patience and maturity.
• Experience with manual handling and medication administration.
• Experience with personal care and domestic duties.
• Cert III Individual Support or higher (or working towards).
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to use own vehicle.

Support customers in daily living skills such as meal preparation, housekeeping, showering and toileting and medication administration;

Ensure positive behaviour support plans are followed; and

Administration duties and mandatory reporting

What you'll bring

Extensive experience in supporting customers with behavioural support plans;

Extensive experience working with challenging behaviours- essential;

An understanding and enthusiasm for working alongside people with disabilities;

Ability to manage complex or difficult situations as they arise with patience and maturity;

Previous experience with manual handling and medication administration;

Significant personal or Willingness to assist with personal care and domestic duties experience;

Cert III Individual Support or higher (or working towards one)

A valid drivers licence and willingness to use your private vehicle (aligned with genU motor vehicle allowance rebate).

(You'll also need an NDIS Worker Screening Check and Orientation Module Certificate – but don't worry, we'll help guide you through this.)
