Job summary

genU is seeking an experienced Support Worker to join our team in Bunbury, WA, for a Night Awake role assisting customers transitioning from hospital to home. You will support people with disabilities and mental health needs with daily living tasks, medication administration, and personal care, while following positive behaviour support plans.

You’ll bring a Cert III in Disability or related experience, a valid driver’s license, and a genuine commitment to person-centred care.

Responsibilities

• Support person-centred plans to identify goals and help customers achieve them.

• Perform administration duties and complete mandatory reporting.

genU is looking for an experienced Support Workers who can team up with our customers. You will be making a real impact by helping people with disabilitiesand requiring mental health support, as they make the transition from hospital to home.

This is a 'Night Awake' position. Please review the roster included to ensure you can work the shifts before applying.

• Support person-centred plans that identify a customer’s life goals and working to achieve them;
• Support customers in daily living skills such as meal preparation, housekeeping, showering and toileting and medication administration;
• Ensure positive behaviour support plans are followed; and
• Administration duties and mandatory reporting

What you’ll bring

• Extensive experience in supporting customers with behavioural support plans;
• Extensive experience working with challenging behaviours- essential;
• An understanding and enthusiasm for working alongside people with disabilities;
• Ability to manage complex or difficult situations as they arise with patience and maturity;
• Previous experience with manual handling and medication administration;
• Willingness to assist with personal care experience;
• Cert III in Disability, Individual Support or higher (or working towards one) OR proven experience supporting people living with disability or mental health is essential;
• A valid drivers licence and willingness to use your private vehicle (aligned with genU motor vehicle allowance rebate).

(You’ll also need an NDIS Worker Screening Check and Orientation Module Certificate – but don’t worry, we’ll help guide you through this.)
