Ayrshire Independent Living Network is looking for a part-time Support Worker / Buddy in Cumnock to assist a young man with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. The role involves providing social support, ensuring his safety, and being patient while he communicates his needs.
Applicants must have experience with Autism, a clean driver’s license, and be flexible with working hours, including potential overnight shifts.
The compensation is £13.45 per hour with mileage allowance for work-related travel.
Support Worker / Buddy (P/T) Location: Cumnock
Applicants must be flexible as hours of work / shifts will vary each week. Availability to do overnights during weekdays and weekends is required. However the regular weekly hours will be a small amount required approx 4 hours.

Support Worker / Buddy (P/T) required to support a young man with Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
You will provide social support and companionship within the local community, ensuring his safety at all times. The young man has very little communication skills; therefore patience is required to allow him to communicate his needs and feelings clearly. Continuity and consistency are very important to him.
He enjoys going for walks on a nice day and using his pool in his garden.
We are looking for individuals who are calm, patient and able to recognise his anxieties and associated behaviours. It is essential that you have experience with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and managing associated seizures, also giving medication when required.
Experience of supporting young adults with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and dealing with seizures is essential.
You must be a driver with use of own car and a full clean driver’s licence; business insurance would be required. Mileage allowance will be paid if using your car for work duties.
