Job summary

Ayrshire Independent Living Network in Cumnock is seeking Personal Assistants / Companions to support a disabled man living at home. The role involves personal care, meals, companionship, and accompanying him to community activities and appointments.

You must have a clean driving licence, be patient and trustworthy, and be prepared to undertake training in Moving and Handling, Epilepsy, First Aid, and Medication, with a 6-month probation and references as part of the process.

Qualifications

• Patient, understanding and caring demeanor.
• Honest, trustworthy, reliable with family communication.
• Experience of Support Work and knowledge of learning disabilities, MD and epilepsy desirable.
• Clean driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care including washing, showering, dressing.
• Provide meals, cooking and snacks.
• Offer companionship and social support in the community and during appointments.
• Drive the gentleman’s vehicle and accompany him to activities.
