Job summary

The Wish Group is expanding its Wish Home Care team to support older clients in their own homes around the Bellarine area, Victoria. Casual home care roles require passion for care, reliability and the ability to work with a dedicated team to help clients live independently.

Candidates should have a Certificate III in Aged Care or equivalent, with at least 12 months experience in aged care/home care. A driver’s license and access to a car are preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care (showering, dressing, hygiene).
• Perform household tasks (cleaning, shopping, meal prep).
• Prepare and cook meals for clients.
• Support clients to attend appointments and activities in the community.
• Offer social support and companionship to maintain wellbeing.
• Assist clients to maintain daily living skills and independence.

About the roles:

We are currently building our support worker team for roles in home care . Working with our older clients in the Bellarine Area. We have a passion for working with older people and helping them remain in their homes for as long as they choose. We want to build a team of experienced, compassionate people who have the same vision.

Working within your local area, you will be supported by a dedicated experienced team, to assist clients to live their best lives in their own homes. We match clients with carers who have compatible interests to support our clients with:

Personal care such as showering, dressing, and helping with personal hygiene.

Household cleaning.

Shopping.

Preparing and cooking meals.

Attending appointments or activities within the community.

Social support and companionship.

Assisting people to improve their social and daily living skills.

Palliative care.

Mental Health Support.

Please note as this is a developing opportunity the majority of our available work currently is in the area of domestic assistance and social support.

The Shifts

Casual positions available.

Casual Pay Rates starting at $45 per hour Monday to Friday. Penalty rates available for PM and Night shifts as well as weekends and public holidays

Shifts length minimum 2 hours

We are looking for people who have:

A Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support or equivalent.

At least 12 months qualified experience in Aged Care / Home Care.

A passion for caring for people and delivering a high standard of care.

Excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills.

Exceptional organisational and problem-solving skills.

Access to a smartphone.

A current driver’s license and access to a registered, insured and well-presented car.

The right to work in Australia & can obtain a satisfactory Police Check.

Working with Children Check.
