Job summary

Uniting AgeWell Geelong is seeking compassionate Home Care Workers to support older clients in living safely and independently at home. The role involves travel between clients’ homes across the Geelong region, providing personal care, meal prep, and social support, with a focus on respecting clients’ rights and cultural needs.

You’ll join a multidisciplinary team, maintain high standards of care, and contribute to a friendly, respectful service.

Qualifications

• Certificate III/IV in Individual Support (Aged or Disability) or equivalent
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates
• Current Victorian Driver's Licence
• Experience in a home care setting or providing domestics support is desirable
• Knowledge in community care with a commitment to high standards of care for clients and their families
• Understanding of client directed care
• Thrive in a team and also appreciate one-to-one interactions

Responsibilities

• Providing personal care, including showering, grooming, and mobility assistance
• Supporting clients with domestic tasks such as meal preparation and household chores
• Providing social support and transport for appointments or activities
• Ensure that client’s rights, cultural, spiritual and other individual needs are incorporated in all aspects of care
• Work within a multidisciplinary team, provide effective support to clients, recognise changes in clients’ conditions
• Promote and participate in quality activities, and provide outstanding customer service maintaining friendly, supportive and professional relationships with clients, their relatives and friends
• Support colleagues by sharing knowledge and expertise
• Must have your own car (registered in your own name), valid insurance and a current Victorian driver's licence

About the role:

Uniting AgeWell's Barwon Home Care supports elderly clients to live safely and independently at home for as long as possible.We offer comprehensive ageing support and services throughout the Geelong Region,Central Geelong and the Bellarine Peninsula andsurrounding communities.

Our part-time roles require a minimum commitment of 20 hours per fortnight. You must have availability on at least three weekdays per week during daytime hours.

This role involves travelling between clients’ homes to provide support and care tailored to their individual needs. Responsibilities include:

• Providing personal care, including showering, grooming, and mobility assistance
• Supporting clients with domestic tasks such as meal preparation and household chores
• Providing social support and transport for appointments or activities
• Ensure that client’s rights, cultural, spiritual and other individual needs are incorporated in all aspects of care and daily living
• Work within a multidisciplinary team, provide effective support to clients, recognise changes in clients’ conditions and escape observations and concerns in accordance with Uniting AgeWell processes
• Promote and participate in quality activities, and provide outstanding customer service maintaining friendly, supportive and professional relationships with clients, their relatives and friends
• Support colleagues by sharing knowledge and expertise
• Must have your own car (registered in your own name), valid insurance and a currentVictoriandriver's licence
