Job summary

Claro Disability Services is seeking casual support workers across our Frankston, Mornington and Hastings sites to help people with complex needs live more independent lives. You will work with families, medical professionals, and other support workers to keep everything running smoothly.

You will deliver person-centered care, mobility assistance, daily tasks, and meaningful social engagement, while supporting autonomy and dignity. We value energy, care, integrity, and teamwork in our community.

Qualifications

• Warm, patient and genuinely caring approach.

Responsibilities

• Person-centered planning and conversations with clients, families and advocates.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, positioning and daily tasks per care plan.
• Monitor medical needs, follow plans and liaise with care team.
• Provide social time and community access aligned with interests.
• Support autonomy and advocacy, respecting consent and independence.
• Respect cultural backgrounds and beliefs.

What you’ll do

• Person-centered planning: Chat with the client (and family/advocates), get the know them and understanding of goals and routines.
• Complex physical care: Help with mobility, transfers, positioning, daily tasks, and devices (wheelchairs, aids, etc.) as outlined in the plan
• Medical supports: Watch for changes, follow med/clinical plans, and liaise with the care team if things shift.
• Social time and participation: Bring meaning, fun, and community access aligned with interests.
• Autonomy and advocacy: Support decision-making, respect consent, boost independence where possible.
• Cultural humility: Respect backgrounds, beliefs, and ways of being
