Job summary

Focused Health Care in Brisbane is hiring casual/part-time Community Support Workers for roles in Tewantin, QLD. You will assist people living with disability and older adults in their homes and communities across Southeast Queensland.

The position involves personal care, health support, transport, social activities, and light domestic duties. A relevant qualification (or studying) and a current Australian driver’s license are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold a relevant qualification (or be studying) in Disability, Aged Care, Community Services, or equivalent.
• 1 year+ experience in supporting people with disability or ageing populations is desirable.
• Current Australian driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle preferred.
• Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and compliant with Queensland directions.
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance and National Police Check are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including bathing, grooming, and toileting.
• Assist with health needs management and health monitoring.
• Support with appointments, transport, and social activities.
• Plan meals and assist with meal preparation.
• Assist with light cleaning, shopping, and domestic duties.
• Assist with light gardening and yard maintenance.
• Support community connections and independent living in clients' homes.
• Respect client rights, dignity, and preferences.
• Document and communicate care milestones and changes to supervisors.

Tuesday: 9:30am - 1:30pm

Friday: 7:30am - 11:30am and 12:00pm - 4:00pm

About the Role

We have immediate start opportunities for experienced and highly motivated Casual Support Workers to assist people living with disability and older people across Southeast Queensland. You will be joining a great team, providing support to people in their homes and communities to live a life of their choosing, with dignity and independence.

Support will include:

• Making and maintaining community connections
• Managing and maintaining health needs
• Providing personal care, including bathing, grooming, and toileting
• Scheduling and attending appointments and social events
• Meal planning and preparation
• Transport and community access
• Participation in recreational activities
• Shopping and errands
• Light cleaning and domestic duties
• Light gardening and minor yard maintenance

• Minimum 1 year experience supporting people living with a disability and/or people who are ageing
• A clean, reliable vehicle and a current Australian driver’s license
• Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and maintain vaccination status as per Queensland Government Directions
• Verification of work rights in Australia

• First Aid and CPR Certificates
