Job summary

Catholic Healthcare Limited in NSW is seeking compassionate in-home carers who travel locally to support clients living at home. Permanent part-time and casual roles are available with an hourly rate of 34.50 to 48.75 AUD, plus superannuation and kilometre reimbursement ($1.11 per km).

You will assist with daily tasks, transport, meals, social support and personal care as required, with training opportunities and not-for-profit tax benefits.

Qualifications

• Passion for providing high quality care to older Australians.
• Comfortable interacting with a wide variety of people.
• Good communication skills.
• Reliable team player.
• Certificate III/IV in Individual Support highly regarded but not essential.
• Australian driver’s license and access to a registered motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with day-to-day in-home tasks per care plan (cleaning, tidying, washing).
• Transport to appointments and shopping.
• Meal preparation.
• Social support or respite for family carers.
• Personal care including showering and dressing (if qualified).

Day to day role looks like:

• Supporting and connecting with our clients assisting with day to day in home tasks - cleaning, tidying, washing and other tasks within the client's care plan
• Transport to appointments and shopping
• Meal preparation
• Social Support or Respite for family/carers
• Personal care including assistance with showering and dressing (if qualified/fully trained)

To be successful in this role you’ll need:

• A genuine passion for providing high quality care to the older Australian's in the community
• To be comfortable interacting with a wide variety of people
• Good communication skills
• To be a reliable team player
• To have an understanding of workplace health and safetyCertificate 3 or 4 in Individual Support highly regarded (but not essential)
• An Australian driver's licence and access to a registered motor vehicle (essential)
