Job summary

Ability Options in Windsor, NSW is seeking energetic Support Workers to join our Accommodation Services team on a permanent part-time basis (up to 20 hours per week). Location Windsor, NSW with some travel across multiple sites, and remuneration of $36.22 per hour plus super, salary packaging and penalty rates.

As a Support Worker, you will assist participants with activities, transport to events, complete progress notes, and provide personal care as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide personal care in residential setting.
• High level of resilience and emotional intelligence.
• Strong communication skills and flexibility in communication methods (including active listening).
• Certificate 3 in Individual Support or related (desirable).
• Personal mobile device meeting system requirements (last three years).
• Satisfactory background checks including NDIS Worker Check or willingness to obtain.
• Valid First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011).

Responsibilities

• Helping participants explore interests and hobbies through programs and activities.
• Transporting participants to events and appointments.
• Admin duties such as progress notes and incidental reports.
• Providing personal care including toileting, showering, dressing and feeding as required.

The Role

We are currently looking for energetic and passionate Support Workers to join our Accommodation Services team inWindsor.

As a Support Worker, you will work collaboratively within the team to support and provide service to participants in line with the values of the organisation.Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Helping participants explore their interests and hobbies through range of programs and recreational activities.
• Transporting participants to events and appointments.
• Admin duties such as completing progress notes, charts and incidental reports.
• Providing personal care including toileting, showering, dressing and feeding as required.

• Ability and willingness to provide personal care and support activities of daily living in a residential setting.
• High level of resilience and emotional intelligence.
• Strong communication skills and demonstrated flexibility in methods of alternative and augmentative communication, particularly being able to use active listening skills.
• Certificate 3 in Individual Support or related (desirable).
• Have personal mobile device that meets our system requirements which is typically a device released in the last three years.
• Satisfactory background checks including NDIS Workers Check (or willingness to obtain).
• Valid First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011).
