Job summary

Ability Options is seeking experienced Support Workers to join the Accommodation team at West Wallsend, NSW. Base site is West Wallsend with some travel to multiple sites. This permanent part-time role is up to 24 hours per week, offering $36.22 per hour plus super, salary packaging and penalty rates.

You will support participants with personal care, transport to events, and assist with daily living activities while promoting dignity, independence and inclusion within the community.

Qualifications

• Ability and willingness to provide personal care and activities of daily living in a residential setting.
• Current driver licence (minimum P2).
• Satisfactory background checks including NDIS Workers Check (or willingness to obtain).
• Valid First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011).
• Personal mobile device meeting system requirements to be used with our platforms.

Responsibilities

• Help participants explore their interests and hobbies through programs and recreational activities.
• Transport participants to events and appointments.
• Complete progress notes, charts and incidental reports (admin duties).
• Provide personal care including toileting, showering, dressing and feeding as required.

The Role

Base Site: West Wallsend, NSW (some travel required across multiple sites).

Employment: Permanent Part-time (up to 24 hours per week).

Remuneration: $36.22 per hour + super + salary packaging + penalty rates.

Responsibilities

• Helping participants explore their interests and hobbies through range of programs and recreational activities.
• Transporting participants to events and appointments.
• Admin duties such as completing progress notes, charts and incidental reports.
• Providing personal care including toileting, showering, dressing and feeding as required.

Essential Criteria

• Ability and willingness to provide personal care and support activities of daily living in a residential setting.
• High level of resilience and emotional intelligence.
• Strong communication skills and demonstrated flexibility in methods of alternative and augmentative communication, particularly being able to use active listening skills.
• Certificate 3 in Individual Support or related (desirable)
• Current driver licence (minimum P2)
• Have personal mobile device that meets our system requirements which is typically a device released in the last three years.
• Satisfactory background checks including NDIS Workers Check (or willingness to obtain)
• Valid First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011)
