Job summary

Mission Australia in Katherine, NT, is seeking a permanent part-time Support Worker to assist people to sustain tenancies and access local services. You’ll work across Katherine and the Big Rivers region delivering practical support, life-skills coaching, and connections to community programs.

This role emphasizes relationship-building, confidentiality, and teamwork in a not-for-profit setting, with a base salary plus super and salary packaging benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in community, support, customer service, youth work, aged care, disability, or similar role is highly regarded.
• A genuine passion for helping people and making a positive difference in the community.
• Ability to build positive relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and accurate records.
• Willingness to learn, take initiative, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Basic computer skills and confidence using online systems.
• Current Full Australian Driver's Licence.

• Salary: $58,627.13 Base Salary ($37.09 per hour) + Super + not-for-profit salary packaging benefits

As a Support Worker in our Tenancy Sustainability Program, you will be making a real difference every day for people across Katherine and the Big Rivers region who are working hard to build safe, stable homes and stronger futures.

This role is perfect for someone who knows and loves the region, who understands the importance of community, connection, and having a safe place to call home.

Each day, you'll walk alongside individuals and families, helping them strengthen life skills, maintain their tenancies, and access local services and opportunities that help them thrive.

Your key responsibilities will be to
