Job summary

SEQUAL is growing and seeks experienced Disability Support Workers to join SIL homes in Goodna, Collingwood Park and Oxley, supporting NDIS participants with diverse needs and high-intensity care.

You will follow individual care plans, manage challenging behaviours under Positive Behaviour Support Plans, assist with meals and housework, and help clients engage in community activities while upholding safety and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to support clients who are non-verbal.
• Proactive, positive attitude with passion for helping people with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Delivering person-centred support and following individual care plans.
• Managing challenging behaviours per Positive Behaviour Support Plans.
• Assisting with meals, cooking, and cleaning.
• Helping clients engage in community and recreational activities.
• Ensuring safe, compliant practices per NDIS Code of Conduct and WHS.
• Provide care during shift hours (various rosters).

The role:

We’re on the lookout for experienced Disability Support Workers to join our teams to work in SIL homes located in Goodna, Collingwood Park and Oxley. In this role, you’ll support a NDIS participants with physical/intellectual disabilities, neurological disorders, high intensity needs and Positive Behaviour Support Plans.

What you’ll be doing:

• Delivering person-centred support and following individual care plans.
• Managing challenging behaviours and following Positive Behaviour Support Plan (training provided by Behaviour Support Practitioner)
• Supporting with household tasks such as meal prep, cooking, and cleaning.
• Assisting clients to engage in community and recreational activities (including swimming/hydrotherapy).
• Ensuring safe, compliant practices in line with the NDIS Code of Conduct and WHS standards.
• 0600-1400
• 1400-2200
• 2200-0600 (active awake)

What You’ll Need:

• Experience with high intensity needs, challenging behaviours and supporting clients who are non verbal is extremely desirable.
• Proactive, positive attitude and a passion for working with people with disabilities.
• Current paid NDIS Worker Screening check (yellow card) and Queensland Working With Children Check (blue card).
• Valid First Aid and CPR certifications.
• Driver licence, reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
• Full working rights in Australia.
