Job summary

Hireup in Sydney, NSW, is seeking a positive and experienced Support Team Lead who has worked as a Disability Support Worker and can commit to 15 hours per week in a permanent role.

You will oversee face-to-face support, rostering, staff recruitment and training, and collaborate with families, therapists, and clinicians to deliver person-centred care for clients with complex needs. A proactive, self-directed leader is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in disability sector with complex needs and behaviour support.
• Leadership, recruitment and staff management experience are highly desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for incident reporting and collaboration.

Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a positive and experienced Support Team Lead with experience as a Disability Support Worker and a willingness to commit to 15 hours of permanent work per week.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Provide face-to-face support work – This will be focused on supporting the client with positive behaviour support needs
• Handle rostering, recruiting, and training staff.
• Attend meetings with the client, family members, and the Hireup manager.
• Any admin duties relating to the clients' support.

Experience required:

• Disability Sector knowledge – experience working with clients with complex needs, behaviour support and restrictive practices.
• Recruitment, management, leadership experience, budgeting & liaising with stakeholders is highly desirable
• Leadership skills and the ability to coordinate and communicate with a team
• Google Workspace Expertise: Strong technical proficiency with Google Workspace, specifically managing Google Drive permissions and structure.
• Ability to work autonomously, demonstrate high self-direction, and keep productive during quiet periods.
• Excellent written and verbal skills, including detailed incident reporting.
• Ability to work with family, therapists, and clinicians.
• CPI training or willingness to complete

Current Shift Availability:

• Must be able to commit to ongoing shifts each week, Monday-Friday for 15 hours. This will be split between face-to-face shifts and admin.
• Possibility to be flexible and take on extra hours as a support worker if required.

• Full First Aid
• Right to work within Australia
• Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check
• Reliable car and a full Australian Driver's Licence
