Job summary

Quirindi Care Services is seeking a friendly Support Service Worker to join our aged care home, handling catering, cleaning and laundry to support residents’ daily life.

You will build relations with residents and families, assist the kitchen, ensure meal service and maintain high cleanliness and documentation standards. Mandatory NDIS clearance and Australian work rights apply.

Qualifications

• NDIS Worker Clearance is mandatory.
• Valid Australian work rights are mandatory.
• Hospitality or customer service experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassion and empathy toward residents.
• Understanding of resident rights and Aged Care Accreditation Standards is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present dietary services, including meals and drinks.
• Assist the chef with meal preparation, cleaning and general kitchen duties.
• Distribute meals to residents and in dining rooms.
• Perform cleaning tasks across resident rooms and facility.
• Complete required documentation and reporting.
• Ensure handwashing supplies are available and replenished.
• Support laundry services including item checking and labelling.

The Role:

Our Support Service Workers provide all hospitality aspects of our Aged Care home such as catering, cleaning and laundry services. You will build strong relationships with our residents, families and Care Staff contributing the optimisation of resident choice and essentially creating a strong sense of home in accordance with our values supporting our resident’s quality of life.

What You Will Do

• Preparation and presentation of dietary services, including meals and drinks
• Assisting the chef with meal preparation, cleaning and general kitchen duties
• Distribution of meals to residents & dining room services
• All aspects of cleaning throughout the resident rooms and facility
• Completing required documentation and reporting
• Ensure handwashing supplies are available and replenished
• Contribute to an effective laundry service including item checking & labelling

What you will bring:

• Currently hold a NDIS Worker Clearance (or willing to obtain) – MANDATORY
• Valid Working rights in Australia - MANDATORY
• Hospitality or Customer Service experience in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassion and Empathy
• An understanding of resident rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and Outcomes (highly regarded but not essential)
