Job summary

PresCare in Maryborough invites applications for a Support Service Worker at Yaralla Place. You will deliver hospitality services, meals and dining support, while helping maintain a clean, safe, resident‑focused environment that enhances quality of life.

The role requires NDIS clearance and Australian working rights, with opportunities for professional development and employee assistance support. Base pay is hourly with additional benefits for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• NDIS Worker Clearance is mandatory.
• Valid Working Rights in Australia are mandatory.
• Hospitality or customer service experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassion and empathy for residents.
• Understanding of resident rights and Aged Care Standards is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Preparation and presentation of dietary services, including meals and drinks.
• Assisting the chef with meal preparation, cleaning and kitchen duties.
• Distribution of meals to residents and dining room service.
• All aspects of cleaning throughout resident rooms and facility.
• Completing required documentation and reporting.
• Ensure handwashing supplies are available and replenished.
• Contribute to an effective laundry service including item checking and labelling.

Our Yaralla Place community is set in the heart of our well preserved colonial architectural town of Maryborough, just a short stepping stone from QLD's pristine beaches and beautiful Hervey Bay. Our 96 bed home is divided into smaller households that mirror the look and rhythm of home with vast communal areas where our residents can enjoy their own homestyle lounge, dining and kitchen areas with a private backyard for their established gardens and veggie patches.

The Role

Our Support Service Workers provide all hospitality aspects of our Aged Care home such as catering, cleaning and laundry services. You will build strong relationships with our residents, families and Care Staff contributing the optimisation of resident choice and essentially creating a strong sense of home in accordance with our values supporting our residents quality of life.

What You Will Do

• Preparation and presentation of dietary services, including meals and drinks
• Assisting the chef with meal preparation, cleaning and general kitchen duties
• Distribution of meals to residents & dining room services
• All aspects of cleaning throughout the resident rooms and facility
• Completing required documentation and reporting
• Ensure handwashing supplies are available and replenished
• Contribute to an effective laundry service including item checking & labelling

What you will bring

• Currently hold an NDIS Worker Clearance (or willing to obtain) - MANDATORY https://www.workerscreening.qld.gov.au/
• Valid Working Rights in Australia - MANDATORY
• Hospitality or Customer Service experience in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassion and Empathy
• An understanding of resident rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and Outcomes (highly regarded but not essential)
