Job summary

Kyabram District Health Service (KDHS) is seeking a Support Services Manager to oversee Environmental Services, Patient Services, Porters, Laundry, Food Services including Cafe and Procurement. You will ensure the facility remains clean, hygienic, compliant, and efficiently operated, while maintaining safety for patients, staff and visitors.

Reporting to the Corporate Services Director, you will lead a team through regular meetings, address complex issues, and maintain HSV compliance.

About the Role

The Support Services Manager (SSM) is responsible for the management of Environmental Services, Patient Services Assistant, Porters, Laundry, Food Services including Cafe and Procurement. The role will ensure the Health Service is maintained in a clean, hygienic, pleasant and operational state that maintains compliance with relevant standards and legislation. All work practices take into consideration the safety of patients, residents, staff, visitors and the environment. The role will ensure compliance with Health Share Victoria policies and procedures.

The SSM reports directly to the Corporate Services Director and is assisted by Catering and Environmental Services Team Leaders overseeing these departments, all of whom report to the SSM. Complex issues are escalated to the Corporate Services Director for resolution, while the SSM is expected to provide initial responses to general concerns. Furthermore, the SSM serves as an exemplar for the team, conducting regular team huddles/meetings to uphold high standards across all team members.

As the Procurement Manager, it is essential for the SSM to maintain a strong relationship with HealthShare Victoria, ensuring that the procurement of stock aligns with HSV's compliance standards.

As a valuable member of the Leadership Team, the SSM contributes significantly to the overall performance of the Support Services department, consistently aligning with Kyabram District Health Service (KDHS) Purpose and Values.
