Job summary

Tenterfield Care Centre, part of the Apollo Care Alliance, is seeking a Casual Cleaning & Kitchen Hand to support weekday operations across Millrace and Haddington homes and help maintain high standards for our residents.

You will contribute to cleaning resident areas, laundry, and kitchen duties, with shifts designed to fit your lifestyle. The role offers a competitive hourly rate and additional benefits in a not-for-profit setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role, preferably in aged care.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• NDIS Worker Screening clearance required or willingness to obtain.
• Understanding of Resident Rights and Aged Care Accreditation Standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining legislated safety, quality, and hygiene standards.
• Cleaning resident rooms, bathrooms, and living areas.
• Cleaning communal and dining areas.
• Cleaning and sorting laundry.
• Maintaining adequate supplies of toilet paper, soap, and other cleaning items for resident use.
• Adhering to infection control principles and WHS requirements including safe storage and use of chemicals.
• Completing required documentation and reporting.
• Preparation and presentation of meals and drinks.
• Distribution of meals to residents and assisting the chef with meal prep and kitchen duties.
• Dining room services and providing excellent personalised service to residents.
• Ensuring infection control and food safety standards are met and high cleanliness across the organisation.

The Role

Reporting to the Manager, you’ll support weekday operations by maintaining cleanliness and kitchen hand services across both Millrace and Haddington homes, ensuring our high standards are met. Our Support Services Cleaning & Kitchen Hand staff are integral to the wellbeing of our residents, delivering high-quality services. We are currently looking for a Casual staff to join our team who are passionate about making a difference.

What you will do

Cleaning & Laundry

• Maintaining legislated safety, quality, and hygiene standards
• Cleaning resident rooms, bathrooms, and living areas
• Cleaning communal and dining areas
• Cleaning and sorting laundry
• Maintaining adequate supplies of toilet paper, soap, and other cleaning and hygiene supplies for resident use.
• Adhering to infection control principles, WHS requirements including the safe storage and use of chemicals and complete cleaning requirements according to facility schedules
• Completing required documentation and reporting

Kitchen Hand

• Preparation and presentation of dietary services, including meals and drinks
• Distribution of meals to residents, assisting the chef with meal preparation, cleaning, and general kitchen duties
• Dining room services
• Providing excellent personalised service to our residents
• Ensure duties are performed in accordance with Infection Control and Food Safety Handling Standards
• Ensure a high standard and quality of cleanliness throughout the organisation.
• Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment.
• Completion of documentation

What you will bring

• Experience gained in a similar role, preferably within an Aged Care setting desirable
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Currently hold and maintain a NDIS Workers Screen (or willing to obtain) - Mandatory
• An understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards, and Outcomes is highly regarded but not essential
