Job summary

The Bays Aged Care in Hastings, Victoria, is hiring a Support Service Worker to provide hospitality services within our 90-bed home. You will assist with meals, cleaning, laundry, and dining room service, supporting residents and care staff to maintain a comfortable, home-like environment.

This part-time role offers a flexible schedule (40 hours per fortnight) with a focus on resident wellbeing, strong communication, and teamwork, plus opportunities for professional development and non-profit

Qualifications

• NDIS Worker Clearance (or willingness to obtain)
• Valid Working Rights in Australia
• Hospitality or customer service experience in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassion and empathy
• Understanding of resident rights and Aged Care Accreditation Standards

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present dietary services, including meals and drinks
• Assist the chef with meal preparation, cleaning and kitchen duties
• Distribute meals to residents and dining room services
• Clean extensively throughout resident rooms and facility
• Complete required documentation and reporting
• Ensure handwashing supplies are available and replenished
• Contribute to laundry service, including item checking and labeling

The Bays Aged Care is a 90-bed facility where we pride ourselves on creating a friendly, caring environment in which residents feel safe and supported.At the heart of our offering is a deep commitment to a resident-first approach.The RoleOur Support Service Workers provide all hospitality aspects of our Aged Care home such as catering, cleaning and laundry services. You will build strong relationships with our residents, families and Care Staff contributing the optimisation of resident choice and essentially creating a strong sense of home in accordance with our values supporting our residents quality of life.
This is a part-time position working 40 hours per fortnight, offering a great opportunity to join our team while maintaining a flexible work-life balance.
What you will do:

• Preparation and presentation of dietary services, including meals and drinks
• Assisting the chef with meal preparation, cleaning and general kitchen duties
• Distribution of meals to residents & dining room services
• All aspects of cleaning throughout the resident rooms and facility
• Completing required documentation and reporting
• Ensure handwashing supplies are available and replenished
• Contribute to an effective laundry service including item checking & labelling

What you will bring:

• Currently hold an NDIS Worker Clearance (or willing to obtain) -MANDATORYhttps://www.workerscreening.qld.gov.au/
• Valid Working Rights in Australia -MANDATORY
• Hospitality or Customer Service experience in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassion and Empathy
• An understanding of resident rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and Outcomes (highly regarded but not essential)
