Job summary

Civmec is seeking an experienced SMP Supervisors for the BHP Bucket Wheel Reclaimer Upgrade project, delivering critical work on a major mining site. You will lead SMP crews, coordinate mechanical, piping, structural and rigging activities, and uphold safety and quality standards.

You'll report to the Construction Superintendent and have strong leadership, S26 certification, and pipefitting/boilermaking trades. A 2:1 roster from Perth and attractive site uplift bonuses are on offer.

Qualifications

• Proven experience supervising SMP works in major construction or heavy industry.
• Experience overseeing piping installation, commissioning and structural/mechanical assembly.
• S26 Certification mandatory; trade qualifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise SMP crews across the BWR7 workfront.
• Coordinate mechanical, piping, structural and rigging activities.
• Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with site requirements.
• Monitor daily progress and help deliver project milestones.
• Work closely with engineering, quality and commissioning teams.
• Mentor and support tradespeople and leading hands.

The Role

About You

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

• S26 Certification - Mandatory
• Trade qualification in Pipefitting, Boilermaking(highly regarded)
• Tickets in Rigging and Scaffolding (highly regarded)
• First Aid & CPR
• Proven experience supervising SMP works in major construction or heavy industry (highly regarded)
• Experience overseeing piping installation, commissioning and structural/mechanical assembly
• Strong leadership, communication and problem‑solving skills
