Job summary

ACCIONA is seeking a hands-on Plant & Equipment professional to manage fleet across multiple sites in Australia. You will decide on allocation, servicing, and replacement of plant and equipment, driving availability, maintenance compliance and operational readiness while collaborating with project teams.

You will influence cost, safety and productivity through optimal utilisation and procurement decisions, and drive improvements to reduce downtime and lift productivity.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in mechanical, diesel fitting, heavy vehicle maintenance or related field.
• Current driver’s licence is essential.
• Experience supervising plant, fleet or equipment operations in construction, civil, infrastructure, mining, transport or industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance systems and asset management practices.
• Solid understanding of WHS legislation and risk management principles.

Responsibilities

• Supervise allocation, mobilisation, utilisation and demobilisation of plant and equipment across operational sites.
• Monitor fleet performance, availability and utilisation to maximise productivity and minimise downtime.
• Coordinate equipment inspections, servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance programs.
• Maintain accurate plant and equipment records within asset management systems.
• Oversee equipment procurement, hire arrangements, disposals and asset replacement planning.
• Address safety, environmental and legislative requirements across the fleet.

About the Opportunity

You will take charge of the plant, vehicles and equipment that keep ACCIONA sites working. Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will decide how fleet is allocated, serviced and replaced, working with project and operational teams. You will own fleet availability, maintenance compliance and operational readiness across multiple sites. Your calls on utilisation, hire and procurement will shape cost, safety and productivity. You will also drive improvements that cut downtime and lift project productivity.

Key accountabilities for the position will be:

Required Skills and Competencies

Trade qualification in Mechanical, Diesel Fitting, Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, Engineering, or related field is desirable Heavy vehicle, mobile plant, or high-risk work licences is desirable. Current driver’s licence essential Demonstrated experience supervising plant, fleet or equipment operations within construction, civil, infrastructure, mining, transport or industrial environments Strong working knowledge of preventative maintenance systems and asset management practices Sound understanding of WHS legislation and risk management principles
