Job summary

ACCIONA is recruiting for a Queensland-based role to support the Senior Project Engineer and Construction Manager in delivering safe, high-quality outcomes within budget. You will manage engineering tasks from planning to procurement and quality control, contribute to tenders, and use digital models to plan site activities.

This position suits an engineer seeking broad project exposure, genuine ownership, and clear visibility into how projects are won and delivered.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or similar.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar role.
• Experience with piling environment highly desirable.
• Experience as a project-based engineer in related disciplines such as ground engineering, rail or civil infrastructure.
• Ability to undertake a pre-employment medical and National Crime Check.

Responsibilities

• Develop a work breakdown structure for the scope of work.
• Analyse project schedule to identify critical path and manage procurement and site constraints.
• Develop construction methods and engineering plans from approved designs.
• Use digital models to plan and coordinate site activities.
• Prepare project proposals with accurate cost and resource estimates.
• Coordinate and control engineering works through inspection and surveying.
• Report on project progress, costs and risks.
• Monitor quality, safety and environmental requirements against ACCIONA standards.
• Identify and mitigate project risks.
• Contribute to team initiatives to resolve issues.

About the Opportunity

This is a Queensland based role. You will report to the Construction Manager and support the Senior Project Engineer to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes within budget. You will manage specific engineering tasks independently, from planning and surveying to procurement and quality control, with minimal supervision. You will also contribute to tenders and bids, develop construction methods and use digital models to plan site activities. It suits an engineer who wants broad project exposure, genuine ownership and a clear view of how projects are won and delivered.

Key accountabilities

• Develop a logical work breakdown structure for the scope of work, so activities can be planned and monitored.
• Analyse the project schedule to identify the critical path, float and sequence of works, and manage procurement, delivery and site constraints to keep work on track.
• Develop construction methods and engineering plans from approved designs.
• Use digital models to plan and coordinate site activities.
• Prepare clear project proposals with accurate cost and resource estimates.
• Coordinate and control engineering works through inspection, scheduling and surveying.
• Report accurately on project progress, costs and risks.
• Monitor quality, safety and environmental requirements against ACCIONA standards.
• Identify and evaluate project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Contribute to team or unit initiatives that resolve common issues or barriers to effectiveness.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Degree in Civil Engineering or similar
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar role
• Demonstrated experience with piling environment highly desirable
• Experience as a project-based engineer in industry related disciplines such as ground engineering, rail and/or associated civil infrastructure
• Ability to undertake a successful Pre-employment medical and National Crime Check.
