Job summary

Mount Isa Mines is advertising a Supervisor – Fixed Plant Underground Assets in Mount Isa, Queensland. The role leads the Fixed Plant Underground Assets team, including underground crusher, compressors and dewatering systems, with a focus on safety, performance and improvements.

The position requires a Mechanical Trade Qualification, SAP S/4HANA knowledge, 5+ years of leadership experience, and exposure to conveyor/crushing environments. Roaster: 8/6, residential, 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Must hold Mechanical Trade Qualification (Boilermaker or Fitter).
• Understand asset maintenance systems and processes.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement methods.
• Demonstrated knowledge of risk management, safety systems and legislative requirements.
• At least 5 years in leading people.
• Queensland Manual Driver's Licence (and S1,S2,S3).
• Knowledge of conveyor systems and crushing environments.

The Role

We are looking for a Supervisor - Fixed Plant Underground Assets to join our Fixed Plant Maintenance team. Reporting into the Superintendent – Fixed Plant Maintenance & Operations, you will be responsible to provide visible supervision and ensure the safety, performance and improvement of the team to optimally maintain GFM Underground Assets, including underground crusher, compressors, conveyor belt systems and main dewatering systems.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Compliance to the weekly schedule to achieve established KPIs and compliance with forecast costs
• Communicating accurate and relevant information and insight to line management on daily performance and against the weekly schedule
• Safety leadership across GFM and for the health and safety of the Surface Assets team including:
• Developing a positive team culture in line with Glencore values including mentoring and coaching to build employee role competency
• Responsible for the management of the assigned cost Centre and capital projects
• Responsible for ensuring shift handover is successfully managed
• Responsible for providing support to the reliability team on asset planning on equipment to improve reliability
• Responsible for developing a positive team culture in line with Glencore values including mentoring and coaching to build employee role competency
• Responsible for providing visible leadership and ensuring compliance to GFM policies, standards and procedures for the Fixed Plant Surface Assets team
• Responsible for the optimisation of assigned resources and continuous improvement to minimise cost and waste

The successful applicants will have:

• Mechanical Trade Qualification – Boilermaker or Fitter
• Understanding of asset maintenance systems and processes
• SAP S4 Han experience.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement methodsDemonstrated knowledge of Risk Management, Safety systems and legislative requirements
• At least 5 years’ Experience in leading people
