Job summary

Mount Isa Mines is advertising for a Supervisor – Fixed Plant Surface Assets in Mount Isa, Queensland. You will supervise the Surface Assets team and ensure safety, performance and continuous improvement of assets including Surface Crusher Plant, vent fans, chillers, paste and batch plants, dewatering pumps and piping.

The role is residential with an 8 days on, 6 days off roster and 12-hour shifts. Applicants should hold a Mechanical Trade qualification (Boilermaker or Fitter) and demonstrate

Qualifications

• Mechanical trade qualification (Boilermaker or Fitter) is required.
• Experience with asset maintenance systems and processes.
• SAP S/4HANA experience.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement methods.
• Experience in leading people (min 5 years).
• Queensland Manual Drivers License required.
• Knowledge of conveyor systems and crushing environments.
• Familiarity with risk management and safety systems.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to weekly schedule to meet KPIs and forecast costs.
• Provide accurate and timely performance updates to line management.
• Provide safety leadership across the site and team.
• Mentor and coach to build employee competency.
• Manage assigned cost centre and capital projects.
• Ensure shift handover is executed effectively.
• Support reliability team on asset planning to improve reliability.

The Role

We are looking for a Supervisor - Fixed Plant Surface Assets to join our Fixed Plant Maintenance team. Reporting into the Superintendent – Fixed Plant Maintenance & Operations, you will be responsible to provide visible supervision and ensure the safety, performance and improvement of the team to optimally maintain GFM Surface Assets, including Surface Crusher Plant, Surface vent fans, chiller plants, paste and batch plants, dewatering pumps and pipework.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Compliance to the weekly schedule to achieve established KPIs and compliance with forecast costs
• Communicating accurate and relevant information and insight to line management on daily performance and against the weekly schedule
• Safety leadership across GFM and for the health and safety of the Surface Assets team including:
• Developing a positive team culture in line with Glencore values including mentoring and coaching to build employee role competency
• Responsible for the management of the assigned cost Centre and capital projects
• Responsible for ensuring shift handover is successfully managed
• Responsible for providing support to the reliability team on asset planning on equipment to improve reliability
• Responsible for developing a positive team culture in line with Glencore values including mentoring and coaching to build employee role competency
• Responsible for providing visible leadership and ensuring compliance to GFM policies, standards and procedures for the Fixed Plant Surface Assets team
• Responsible for the optimisation of assigned resources and continuous improvement to minimise cost and waste

The successful applicants will have:

• Mechanical Trade Qualification – Boilermaker or Fitter
• Understanding of asset maintenance systems and processes
• SAP S4 Han experience.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement methods
• Demonstrated knowledge of Risk Management, Safety systems and legislative requirements
• At least 5 years’ Experience in leading people
• Queensland Manual Drivers License
• S1,S2,S3
• Knowledge and understanding of conveyor systems
• Experience in working within crushing environment
