Bechtel is seeking a Concrete Supervisor for the Eva Copper Mine Project in North Queensland, Australia. The role is FIFO with a 2:1 roster, overseeing direct hire and contractor activities to ensure ES&H, quality, and schedule compliance on civil and concrete works.

Preferred is a degree in engineering or a minimum of 10 years in civil/concrete construction on industrial plants, with at least 10 years in contractor or PMC roles.

Responsibilities

• Monitor direct hire and sub-contractor works and ensure compliance with drawings, specs, schedule, ES&H and quality standards.
• Coordinate installation contractors, project status, schedule, cost control, and change management systems.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, client and stakeholders involved in earthworks and foundation works.
• Review and approve sub-contractor submittals, technical queries, field change docs, drawings and As-Builts.
• Maintain effective relationships with other departments and coordinate all jobsite contractual activities.
• Coordinate interfaces with other work groups.

Job Description

The Concrete Supervisor is responsible for the direct hire scope of works. The Concrete Supervisor is responsible for monitoring all appointed direct hire and Contractor's job site activities and ensure that the construction operations and contractor's performance follow project ES&H, quality, schedule requirements, whilst maintaining effective relationships when interfacing with stakeholders.

This role is offered on a FIFO basis to North Queensland, operating on a 2:1 roster

Major Responsibilities

• Construction monitoring and compliance of direct hire and sub-contractors, ensuring works are carried out as per the drawings, specifications and standards, as per schedule and ensures compliance to ES&H plans, quality standards and local/national regulatory safety codes
• Coordinate performance of the installation contractors, project status, schedule, cost control, change management systems
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, client, and other stakeholders involved in earthworks and foundation works.
• Input to ensure continuous construction work fronts availability through review of look ahead schedules, commodity charts, resource charts, engineering deliverables, material delivery schedules and any other service requirements including sub-contractor submittals
• Responsible for reviewing and approving the sub-contractor's submittals, technical queries, Field change documents and other technical documents including Drawings and As-Builts
• Maintains an effective relationship with other functional departments and coordinates all jobsite contractual activities
• Coordinates and monitors interfaces with other work groups.

About The Candidate

Required Knowledge And Skills

• Experience of large-scale bulk excavation and excavated materials movements
• Experience of large reinforced concrete construction pours including embedment's on major equipment foundations
• Thorough knowledge of standards, specification and codes as applicable, including various safety procedures and practices associated
• Must be able to demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills to maintain a positive work environment between all parties including the client, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project life cycle.
• Self-motivated individual with ability to work independently and exercise professional judgment, with a passion to take ownership of projects and provide sound technical leadership to contractor's staff and construction engineers
• Demonstrated knowledge of complex formwork systems and installation processes on similar projects.
