Job summary

Avis Budget Group in Cairns Airport, QLD is hiring a Lead Vehicle Service Agent to guide a small team of Vehicle Service Agents and ensure vehicles are cleaned and ready for delivery to customers. This full-time role includes 38 hours per week, with 5 weeks of annual leave and a competitive hourly rate plus loadings and bonuses.

As the team lead, you will supervise the wash bay, liaise with Duty Managers on shift requirements, monitor fleet check-ins, and help deliver exceptional customer

Qualifications

• Must hold a full and valid driver's licence.
• Experience leading small teams.
• Ability to work in a team and independently when needed.
• Passionate about delivering high quality vehicle service.
• Commitment to quality workmanship and pride in the vehicles delivered.
• Proactive with initiative and able to handle multiple tasks.
• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a small team to ensure vehicles are cleaned to standard.
• Coordinate with Duty Managers on fleet, staff and shift needs.
• Monitor check in volumes and rental bay levels with Return Agents.
• Clean interior and exterior of vehicles according to standards.
• Support efficient wash bay operations and fleet management onsite.
• Assist customers with inquiries in a positive manner.

About the Role

As our Car Wash Supervisor or what we call Leading Hand you will be responsible for leading a small team of Vehicle Service Agents and ensuring that vehicles are clean and ready to deliver to the customer in a timely manner.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise a small team to ensure vehicles are washed and cleaned following processes and to required standard, providing coaching to team as required.
• Liaise with Duty Managers to discuss and organise fleet, staff and general shift requirements.
• Conduct regular checks and communicate with Return Agents to monitor check in volumes and rental bay levels.
• Clean interior and exterior of vehicles according to quality standards.
• General tasks that support the efficient running of the wash bay area and fleet management onsite.
• Assisting customers with inquiries, concerns and requests in a positive and friendly manner where required.

Skills & Experience

• Hold a full and valid driver's licence, with the ability to drive both manual and automatic vehicles in a range of sizes
• Have some experience leading small teams
• Enjoy working in a team environment, however you will be self-directed and able to work independently when required
• Be passionate about delivering an exceptional product to our customers
• Value quality workmanship and take pride in each vehicle you deliver
• Demonstrate initiative by continually looking for your next task without being asked
• Possess basic computer skills and the aptitude to learn administrative tasks
