Lindsay Australia Ltd is seeking a Workshop Supervisor based at our Derrimut workshop in Melbourne. You will lead day-to-day maintenance, oversee repairs, mentor a team of skilled technicians, and ensure our fleet meets safety, compliance, and performance standards.

The Opportunity:

Based at Lindsay Transport’s Derrimut workshop in Melbourne, the Workshop Supervisor will lead day-to-day maintenance operations, oversee repairs, mentor a team of skilled technicians, and ensure our fleet is maintained to the highest standards of safety, compliance, and performance.

Shift options available:

• Day Shift: Commencing at 5:00am
• Afternoon Shift: Commencing at 1:00pm

What You’ll Do:

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced mechanic or workshop leader looking to take the next step in their career. You’ll play a key role in maintaining fleet reliability, leading a high-performing team, and ensuring the workshop operates safely and efficiently.

• Supervise the inspection, diagnosis, maintenance, and repair across a variety of fleet vehicles (prime movers, rigids, trailers).
• Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system faults.
• Plan, prioritize, and allocate daily tasks to mechanics and service technicians.
• Maintain workshop tools, equipment, and inventory of spare parts.
• Ensure accurate completion of maintenance and repair documentation
• Lead, mentor, and supervise workshop employees.
• Demonstrating safe work practices, leading by example and promoting a safe work culture.

What You’ll Bring:

• Mechanical Trade Qualification with advanced mechanical knowledge
• Demonstrated experience leading workshop or maintenance teams
• Strong ability to plan workloads, prioritise tasks, and drive productivity
• Proven capability to mentor, develop, and motivate team members

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Strong focus on safety, compliance, and quality workmanship
