Job summary

Ora Banda Mining Ltd seeks an experienced Superintendent - Mine Geology (Underground) for Riverina & Waihi operations. Site-based roster (4/3 or 8/6). Lead safe practices, oversee geology activities and drive orebody delineation and planning.

The role requires 8+ years’ Mine Geology experience, statutory supervision readiness, and strong leadership. Deswik/Leapfrog/Micromine proficiency is preferred. Join Ora Banda’s growth journey in Australia.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of postgraduate Mine Geology experience.
• Completed statutory supervisor training, or willing to complete.
• Proven leader who can motivate a team and hold people accountable.
• Proficient with Deswik, Leapfrog and Micromine software.
• Exposure to resource modelling, development and exploration is valued.
• Collaborative mindset with a focus on value through ounce delivery.
• Current C-Class manual driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead a safe workplace and act as statutory supervisor with pre-starts and audits.
• Coordinate underground resource definition, growth and exploration drilling.
• Own grade control, orebody delineation and QA/QC with a Geology First approach.
• Provide geology inputs to life-of-mine planning, budgets and processing blends.
• Own end-of-month reporting and mine-to-mill reconciliation for technical teams.
• Track costs against budget and identify efficiency gains.
• Lead, coach and review Senior Mine Geologists and foster a high-performance culture.
• Manage drilling contractors on safety and deliverables.
• Collaborate with Technical Services, Processing and OBM geology teams.

The role

Applications are sought for the position of Superintendent - Mine Geology (Underground) Riverina & Waihi operations. Site based roster (4/3 or 8/6 combinations).

• Lead a safe workplace and act as statutory supervisor, including daily pre-starts, inspections, drill rig audits, hazard reporting and incident investigations
• Coordinate underground resource definition, conversion and exploration drilling to grow Inferred and Indicated Resources
• Own grade control, orebody delineation, QAQC and a "Geology First" approach to mapping and modelling
• Provide geology inputs to life-of-mine (LOM) planning, budgets, forecasts, metallurgy and processing blend plans
• Own end-of-month reporting and mine-to-mill reconciliation, and present the findings to technical teams
• Track Mine Geology costs against budget and forecast, and find efficiency gains
• Lead, coach and review the performance of Senior Mine Geologists, and build a high-performance, values-led culture
• Manage drilling contractors on safety and deliverables
• Work with Technical Services, Processing and other OBM geology teams to keep information flowing and improve how work gets done

About you

To be considered for the role, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

• Tertiary qualified Geologist with 8+ years' postgraduate Mine Geology experience
• Completed statutory supervisor training, or willing to complete it
• Proven leader who can motivate a team and hold people accountable
• Competent with industry mining and geology software (Deswik, Leapfrog and Micromine preferred)
• Exposure to resource modelling, development and exploration is highly regarded
• Collaborative, with a passion for adding value through quality ounce delivery
• Current C-Class manual driver's licence
